This site is run by me, Jonathan Lopez, doing business as Crate: Communications & Design (“CRATE,” “I,” “me”). This page covers what happens when you visit cratecollective.works or use the contact form.
The short version: I collect very little. Your name and email if you use the contact form, and some anonymized traffic data through Google Analytics. I never sell any of it, and you can ask me to delete anything at any time.
The contact form
When you fill out the contact form, I collect your name, email address, and whatever you write in the message field. That information is:
- Emailed directly to me so I can respond
- Stored in the site’s database as a record of the inquiry
I don’t sell it, rent it, or share it with anyone else. It’s used only to respond to you and keep track of project inquiries. If you’d like me to delete your information, email me and I will.
Analytics
I use Google Analytics, through Google’s Site Kit plugin, to understand how people find and use this site. That includes which pages get visited, roughly where visitors are located (country or city, not a precise location), what device or browser they’re using, and how they arrived here (search, a direct link, social media, and so on).
This data is aggregated and anonymized. It isn’t linked to your name or anything you submit through the contact form. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect it. If you’d rather not be tracked, you can install Google’s opt-out browser add-on or use a browser extension that blocks analytics scripts.
Google’s own privacy policy covers how they handle this data: policies.google.com/privacy
Hosting
This site is hosted on WordPress.com, operated by Automattic, which sets some cookies of its own for basic site function and security. Automattic’s privacy policy: automattic.com/privacy
What I don’t do
- No advertising or ad-tracking networks
- No selling or sharing your data with third parties
- No payment processing on this site. Project payments happen separately, outside the site.
Children
This site isn’t built for children, and I don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If that ever happens by mistake, email me and I’ll delete it.
Questions
Privacy policies are supposed to protect you, not confuse you. If anything here is unclear, or you just want to know more about how something works, email me at jonathan@wearecrate.co and I’ll actually answer.
